On or about September of 2013 I received three different calls from magazine companies.  The first one was supposedly checking to see if I was receiving my magazines as ordered.  I said yes and he (did not give his name) stated that they had to check up periodically to make sure.  He started to say something about an account and I stopped him and stated that I had paid off everything that I owed and had specifically asked that I not be called for any reason.  He did acknowledge that it was stated on my account that I was not to be contacted and was sorry.

Then, about 15 minutes after the first call, I received a call from someone else.  He gave me the same lingo about they were just contacting me to ask if I had been receiving any calls from other magazine services, and if so, I was to tell them that I was already getting my magazines through the First Choice Readers, Inc.  He continued on and was very hard to interrupt.  I realize that I should have just hung up; however, he gave a speile about he could extend my services for a small amount of 40+ dollars per month.  I finally stopped him and told that I did not want any extensions and that I had specifically requested no calls of any kind.  He rambled on and finally I asked him "what part of do not call" that he did not understand and I hung up.   About one month later, I noticed an amount of 40 some dollars taken out of my account.  I was able to stop payment on it.

The third call I received - the same day - came from a young lady who told me the same thing, that she was calling to ask me if I had been receiving calls from other magazine services, and if so, I was to tell them that the company she was servicing my magazines, and then went into the same speile about she could give me an extension on my magazines for approximately $59.90 per month.  I told her that I had already spoken to two other people that same day and that I had previously requested not to be called for any reason.  She stated that she had the notation, but they were required to call and ask about receiving the magazines we had order - and so on.  I do not for the life of me remember answering and questions with the word "yes", but in Decembd comer of 2013, $59.90 started coming out of my checking account.  I was in the middle of moving to an apartment and was involved in an accident in January of 2014 and this took a back seat to solving.  When I did get back to it I could not find the address, I couldn't remember the name of the company -- call it old age if you want, it was very frustrating.  I went to my bank and they had a terrible time finding an address, finally they did, and then I lost it.  I finally went back to my bank in September and the Member Service Manager really worked hard researching this case.  There are so many magazine service companies -- and they change their company names at the drop of the hat.  By the time we had found the right address, they had withdrawn $659.00 plus a number of overdraft fees.

My bank is still trying to satisfy this for me; however, I would like to notify the proper US Government department to file a charge.  Can anyone tell me the right place to write to?
