FCNB informed account holders of the termination of business between it and several catalogs. In doing so, it prevented present holders to speak to telephone representatives regarding questions on their accounts.

I have always maintined minimum purchases on the FCNB account and made payments in excess of minimum balance due. With two "excess" paymnets remaining to be paid. FCNB charged a late fee after receiving the payment the following day. I contacted Spiegel and a representative informed me that she would note in her records of my attempt to contact FCNB and that I should also write a letter of explanation. I explained that harsh weather and flooding in Florida delayed the mail in the letter written.

FCNB appear to have dropped out of sight which leaves the consumer helpless. It is my opinion, that Spiegel and other cataloges should aid consumers in their search for fair business and compensate by paying any late charges brought on by FCNB.
