I open an account with First Consumers National Bank in 2001. I recently went to Trinidad and Tobago and had to use a credit card to secure the extra charges for my room at the Hilton. I pulled out my First Consumers National Bank Master Card and it came up denied. I have never used this card before and I was so embarased, but luckily I had my always reliable American Express. When I got back to the states, I went on line to try to reach the fcnb.com, but the website is down. I called the 1(800) nuber but there is only a recording. Now, it is to my understanding that everytime you use a credit card and it is denied, it goes on your credit report and stays there. I want this to be taken care of and I can't even reach this fraudulent company to cancel my account. I want people to know that I did not go fishing for this credit card. They sent me a pre-approval notice in the mail and since I was trying to re=build credit after a bankruptcy in the late 90's, I figured this was a good way to start. Some one needs to report this bank. It is so illegal the way they don't have any customer service to tell you what is going on with your account.
