Unbeknownst to those who are not familiar with the finance industry, FCNB is otherwise known as a PREDATORY LENDER. Their profit is made off of the average to poor-credit consumer or those even with good credit who are not financially savvy that are likely to do one of these things:

-Make minimum payments on their account
-Max out their credit line
-Pay on the due date or one-two days after

Think of FCNB as a lion preying on a sick or weak animal. As soon as they have the opportunity to make a "kill" they will-and rip you apart. Charging fee after fee and assessing a fee on top of that (example, a late charge that pushes you over your credit limit, or interest charges that accumulate making it appear as if you made charges over your credit limit) and beginning with an already high APR of 22.9%, as soon as you are deemed "high-risk" the bank jacks up the interest rate another 10%.

Who will ever be able to pay off the rest of their balance at that rate, let alone pay it off enough to keep the over limit fees in check? You took that loan because you weren't rich enough to go on a shopping spree with cash anyhow!

How do I know? Unfortunately I had to deal with these greedy extortionists that FCNB are. I have 8 years experience as an accountant and a credit manager for a major manufacturer that vends to major retail outlets and I am a member who works closely with the NACM (National Association of Credit Management).

How much do you bet their un-customer service people is getting paid that is defending their swindling facade of a bank? How much do you think the CEO's are making? Hmmm...No wonder they're putting the silly ideas in these flunkies heads about how terrible and deserving the consumers are. I can guarantee you that the majority of these poor fools that answer the phones at FCNB to not help and frustrate you do not have a college degree/education (possibly even high-school dropouts who lied to their employer) and make enough to qualify for the government welfare roll if they're with one dependent.

How much do their upper management make? Let's just say they're laughing all of this off somewhere in their Venice Italy vacation estate, arrival by private jet, nonetheless. I'll bet these low-self esteemed persons just love their job answering the phone and retorting to all of our "injustices".

My advice to you is to consult an attorney who specializes in consumer fraud (and pay the price if you have to) to make it known you know your rights as a consumer and you will be taken seriously.

I'm sure the attorneys that work in the consumers division are quite weak too, if they even show at court in your jurisdiction. I didn't even have to appear in court to have to win the appeal that a similar type of con-poration (initials "A.G.") filed when I had enough of this crap and won my first complaint. My lawyer charged $250.00-well worth it. Or if your balance is low, file in your local small claims court-guaranteed a winner there.

So how did I get FCNB? I paid them off with a REAL bank (my credit union) on a loan of 9%. I was treated oh so more dignified and I NEVER was charged ridiculous fees nor did I have to deal with a bunch of fool monkeys if ever a problem. (She even waves & smiles to me when I come in their office occasionaly! It's nice to know your hard earned money and dillegent effort to be responsible are appreciated) My billing date was as printed, arrived at my house within a reasonable time of when payment was due AND their 10-day grace period was just that-no lying there.

Oh, and the best part? My credit improved greatly when they saw how I paid the loan off in full to FCNB and review my EXCELLENT credit union loan status.

And a lesson learned-do your research on companies before agreeing to terms, don't take offers that are too easy & quick to lend you a line of credit and most importantly if you can't use cash and you can't use it for capital (an asset), you probably can't afford it.

Eat that you FCNB sons of b***h&s!
