Complaint Review: First Convenience Bank

First Convenience Bank I was charged an overdraft fee for every item that was paid through except one $200.00 item. 10 items. Prior to these charges I had a $1255.00 balance. Killeen Texas

I deposited $1200.00 in my account on 6/11/03. My balance on 6/16/03 reflect a balance. One item of $200.00 was paid, then every other item was charged an overdraft fee (at least 10 items) of $29.95. When I talked with managers of the company, one totally refused to do anything other than to make me a short time loan for the fee. Another manager refunded me $119.80 stating this was all he was allowed to refund.

Both managers tried to rationalize the fees by telling me that since K used my ATM card as a credit card, that my money was put on hold yo pay those items, so when other items presented to be paid there were no funds available, but they paid them and charged me the overdraft fee. Then when the other items presented to be paid , since they had paid these other items, there was not enough money to pay any of them.

I then contacted the call center where the phone was conveniently disconnected by the fist person I talked with. The second lady was very nice, but said they (persons at call center) were only allowed to make one refund of $29.95. At this point I asked to be given a number of someone who could refund my money. They said they could only take my name and information and they would give it to someone who would get in touch with me. This was 6/23/03. I have yet to hear frmm anyone.They still owe me $149.85.
