According to the First Extended Service Corporation (FESC) contract, if your vehicle breaks down within a (40) mile radias of where you bought your vehicle, you must return there for repairs.

I bought my truck in New Bern, N.C. and I live in Jacksonville, N.C. Jacksonville is a little over (40) miles, (41) to be exact. I took my truck to a local dealership to get repair. Once the dealership troobleshooted the problem, they called FESC to get authorization, FESC advised the dealership that they would not give them authorization and the vehicle need to be towed to New Bern because J-ville was under (40) miles.

Because the troubleshooting was "unauthorized", I was stuck with the bill of $196.62. Anyways, I had my truck towed to New Bern and then found out that it was (41) miles. I called FESC (after getting the run-a-round for 4 hours) to get reimbursed, and I was told that FESC does not reimburse if the dealership in J-ville didn't finish the job.

If FESC didn't make me tow my vehicle, the dealership could have fixed the problem. FESC uses some unknow source to give them mileage and they said J-vill was (39) miles - (1) mile under the max. I have a tow bill with (41) miles and FESC fails to honor it. I plan to pursue it legally.
