Complaint Review: First Gold

I received a card in the mail about a pre-approved credit card offer. I decided to call to see what they offered. When I first spoke to the rep, I specifically asked if there were any fees of any kind, to include application, one time, or anything of that nature. She assured me there was no fees of any kind. I even asked again. She again assured me. So I decided (against my better judgement) to apply. At the end of the conversation we were disconnected before I was given all the information.

I called back and asked for the rest of the information about the card. I was told I would receive two cards. One for ordering from their catalogue and the other would be a standard visa. As she went on, I was informed that there was a one time fee of $259.95!!!!!! I immediately asked about the fee and explained that I was told there was none. She said that I would get $250.00 of it back in merchandise that I could order from. She told me the money would be directly taken from my bank account. I told her I did not want to be processed for the card or the program since I was lied to at the onset and I wanted my information deleted from there system. She said fine, have a great day and hung up on me.

What infuriated me was that she did not even now my last name to look up the information.!!!!

I again called back for a third time. The gentleman I spoke with tried to tell me that my information was deleted as soon as I hung up. He assured me that my information has been deleted. This guy didn't even know my first name, let alone my last name. I am reporting them to the BBB also.
