It seems that this company is at it again.  This is not the first rip-off report that has been filed, and the collection agency could only tell us from what year this supposed debt came from.  The collection agency is ARA Inc. out of Illinios, and I had a hard time locating the correct phone numbers as ARA Inc. has the wrong bank title, but the wrong bank listed on letter willingly gave me the numbers I needed to call, and I did not recieve any answers to any of the numbers I called, either they were disconnected, or I was never answered placed on permenate hold.  So here is what anyone and everyone should do if you receive any letter of indebtedness from anyone, write a letter demanding them to provide proof, any and all documents related to said account, and demand that you receive such proof within 30 days, if said company does not provide proof, state that you will take that has not coroperating and that the said company claims you no longer owe them, and if they still try to collect funds from you, it is illegal solicitation to collect monies with out the burden of proof and state that you will follow up with further legal action.  These companies are all the time stealing from us, but this company claims that my husband owes almost a $1000.00 when we have never even heard of any banks or credit cards or even collection agency until today.  ARA Inc, claims this debt is from 1999, so my question to my husband was wait, at the time of this supposed debt, your credit was crap and they had just opened for biz in 87, so how would you have gotten a loan or credit card from them, let alone not remember you owe close to a grand for a debt?  He replied, good question, I would like to know that myself.  Because back then, it was not any easier to get a line of credit, or credit card than it is today.  Now days you can apply online for loans and or credit cards, back then in 1987 and in 1999, more paper than you would think needed for either product.  Bottom line, this whole thing is nothing more than a big scam and they have made big money doing it, and not many stopping to say, hey hold up, show me where your claim is true.  So what this company does it obtain your information set up a false account, falsify documents, then illegally sells your information to illegal collection agencies, they send out a letter of supposed indebtedness, bullies you into believing the debt is yours, then you pay it, and therefore they make their money while stealing yours.  There are several companies related to this and they string on and on.
