I sent First National Bank of Marin a personal check of 49.00 for the enrollment fee, and when I did receive the card, with all the charges that they had put on it, I only had $4.00 left to use. I called them immediately and told them that I wanted my money back, and of course they told me to read the small print on the back, that said no refund, and I informed them that I wanted to cancel the card immediately which never happened. My husband and I applied for a loan to buy a home. Thanks to First National Bank, my credit was shot. I was not able to have my name included on the loan application. Luckily, we were still able to get the loan based on my husband's credit. Needless to say, I have learned a very valuable lesson. When people call now asking about getting a credit card, I immediately ask them what is the "catch" and when they tell me ANY amount of money is required for me to send in or to do a bank draft, I hang up while they are in mid sentence. About 2 months ago, in the mail, I received from the FNBM, Notice of tendency of class action and proposed settlement" that has been placed against them, by someone else that they scammed. I sent the claim form that was enclosed with the notice back to them, and have yet to hear anything on it. Makes me wonder if that was even legit now. If anyone else received the same notice, would you please contact me to let me know if you received payment and that the negative reports placed by FNBM has been taken off of your credit reports. Thank you Sharon Victoria, Texas
