Received a letter from FNCB (collection agency) in Sparks, NV, trying to collect on a debt I supposedly owe on a Mastercard credit card.  I have never had a Mastercard or any credit card other than store cards (ie. Sears, Pennys, etc).

The letter informed me that I owed 345.00, from a card back in 2000,  the letter went on to tell me that they would settle the collection if I would send them just 138.00.

So I called the 800 number on the invoice and actually got a live person on the other end.  When I asked her to send me copies of the agreement and a list of items bought and when they were bought, she informed me that if she did that, that the settlement amount of 138.00 would go away, and I would owe the whole amount.

This is such a scam, just to get some money, I have never heard of any legitimate collection agency offering such a discount, and I told her that If I do owe the money, she should have the bank send me a letter showing the items listed.

Such a ripoff!!!!
