Tonight when I checked the mail, I was surprised to find a credit card for my two year old daughter. I knew it had to be scam of some sort. I'm going to call and ask how they got her name and why they sent this card. What if someone else had gotten hold of this card. I didn't realize toddlers had to watch out for their credit.

Dear Heidi:

In response to your rebuttal, I am also a victim of CCA,CCS,First National Merchant Card,First National Card etc. etc. etc. They are clearly opperating outside the scope of the law, outside the scope of reason, and good taste.

Any company that would put into practice the business ethics this company has displayed definately would issue a card to a two year old and then bill the mothers account for 49.95 every month.

If you do not believe this try contacting the company yourself at the following numbers (provided by the companies own literature)
1-800-277-7056,1-800-717-1278,1-702-256-3000. If that doesn't convince you maybe talking to one of the 27 victims of this company listed last week or the dozen or so listed this week.

Before defending someone with questionable business ethics you should research the company you are defending. And before telling someone to get educated with poor grammar you should have some empathy for the victim.

In regards to the above outcry as falsely incorrct as it is, one response is to educate yourself before you make unjust claims against a company. So you will be given assistance in obtaining facts, therefore being better educated.

Banks and credit companies are provided this information from many diferent agencies. Most known and the biggest source is credit bureaus. There are three main ones and hundreds of small ones. Sometimes, as with most of these cases, this information is provided to the banks and credit companies incorrectly. There are other sources that provide this information, as well, but there is not enough room to list all the agencies. I'll leave that to your own research.

The bank does not and legally cannot issue your child a card. They do not have access to whether the person they are sending the offer to is of legal age to enter into a contract agreement or not. Many times, when it so happens, another source gets ahold of the offer and information does not match a credit report the bank will send a letter requesting proof of residence or ssn.

If an application has been fraudulently applied for you can contact the major credit bureaus and put a fraud alert on your report. This will flag the report so that anytime a creditor runs a check they will contact you before they release any information to verify if you are they one applying for credit. If this is the case then they have your ssn and you would need to contact your local ss dept.

Don't throw out the bank is committing fraud the last thing they want is an account set up fraudulently and used, because guess who carries the loss? Hint: It is not you, it's the bank. So call them. Be professional. Believe me they will welcome this notification.

Another thing that you may want to check, if your child has been issued a ssn, write in to the credit bureau's and have them run a report check on you child's name and ssn. Make sure there is no credit reporting. Amazingly enough, ssn are sold on the black market all the time to illegal immigrants. I know this happened to my 8 year old sister.

Hope this info helped.
