In September 2001, I received a preapproved invitation to First National Credit for a $15,000.00 line of credit with 0% interest for the first twelve months. Thinking that I could possibly transfer balances from another credit card, I mailed in $37.00. After receiving the information from First National Credit and realizing that the credit card was nothing like what I had anticipated, I called the company and told the representative that I would be returning the credit card because it did not allow me to transfer balances and that I wanted my $37.00 refunded. The representative told me to make sure that I put my request for the refund in writing. So, I cut the credit card in half and mailed it along with my written request for the $37.00 refund...just like the representative from First National Credit instructed me.

Today (November 2001), I received a letter from First National Credit stating that they were "very disappointed to hear about my dissatisfaction with the Gold Card Membership." The letter went on to say that they "noticed that I hadn't used my credit card." (hello!) However, the kicker is that the last paragraph states that "our refund policy requires that you mail back the entire membership package (card, rules and regulations pamphlet, and catalog) with a letter expressing your request for a refund."

Ok, how many of you would keep the rules and regulations pamphlet and catalog lying around for a credit card that you cut up and returned a month ago?

I believe that First National Credit, 27101 Aliso Creek RD., Unit 26, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656, is a company that thrives on scamming people. First National Credit.....you should be ashamed of yourselves!
