First Premier Bank Received activated First Premier credit card I did not request. HOW do I get rid of it? Sioux Falls South Dakota
I received a First Premier Bank credit card in the mail I did not request. I looked it up and found this website, whoever can help me out please do. It says the following beside the card that is glued to the paper:
---------------------------------------------
Credit Limit: $250.00
Initial Fees: $178.00
Available Credit: $72.00
First Payment: $20.00
Below that, it says:
What you need to know about YOUR new First PREMIER Bank Credit Card:
Sign Card: Your card is active and ready to use. There's no need to call to activate. Please sign the back of your card immediately.
Make payment: Your first statement should arrive in 7-10 days, allowing you to make your first $20.00 minimum payment.
I read the little paper and the only thing it says regarding refusal of the card is this:
If You Do Not Want the Card: If you do not want the Card, you should cut it in half and return it to us with a written note asking us to cancel your Credit Account. Once you or an Authorized User begin to use the Card, you will have formed a binding contract with us regarding the terms of your Credit Account as described in this Contract.
---------------------
I already have a credit card which is better than this one and do not need this one to begin with. Does cutting it in half and mailing it back to them with a written letter refusing it work? If so, what address should I use?
I do not want to owe $178 for things I did not purchase on a card I did not request.
I am thinking about just brining the entire envelope to an attorney's office and having them deal with it for me.
