We purchased a First Texas Home in July of 2003. This is a brand new home with a one-year warranty from the builder.

We noticed that the back master bedroom was not cooling like the other rooms. It was always hot in the master bedroom. We called the builder to take a look at it. They have sent the HVAC company out to evaluate this problem of lack of air flow in the home many times. First Texas Homes even sent the builder and management out to evaluate this problem as well.

Many letters, phone calls, and faxes have been sent and exchanged. Yet, First Texas Homes claims that the system is working the way it should.

I have had five Professional HVAC technicians out to evaluate the same problem, and all 5 agree that the home need 1.5 tons of air added. They all claim that the HVAC system is under-sized for this home due to a "Manuel J" they performed. Even the company that installed the system sent technicians out to evaluate it, and they also agree the system is under-sized.

It is very clear that First Texas Homes is not fixing the problem and pushing this matter past the one year warranty they give each new home owner.

Do not buy a First Texas Home - They do not stand by their work!
