Now I would like to think and will try to think that your response to this complaint and I have read one other complaint to which you responded very much the same, that you are not intending to sound condesending and do not intend to make those of us who have been desperate/gullible and naive enough to fall for this scam.

Now that I have had time to investigate this situation and compare many different sites and complaints and information about this fraudulent company I definitely do feel more stupid than you could possibly imagine. Yes, there is a reason why many of us resorted to the call of these scam artists and mine happens to be medical reasons resulting in enormous debt as well as divorce. I have opted to take responsibility for these debts as they are mine and it is the right thing to do instead of doing what half the free world has done and file bankruptcy. I am slowing discovery if I did file bankruptcy and wait out my time to have it discharged I would have much better luck at receiving credit.

I was a police officer for a major metropolitan police department for 9 years and have not been gone for very long from the force. I am educated and thought that I would never find myself in a situation like this because I believed I had a decent level of knowledge about internet scams/frauds. I now have more knowledge and understanding than I really ever wanted. It truely is not necessary to give us these tips now because I am pretty sure most all of us have unfortunately figured them out.

As I said at the beginning, I am going to chose the option of you not intending to sound as insulting as you did. I am very aware that the money is gone. We all already feel plenty stupid and very embarassed without being told we have walked right in to the situation and that there is a reason why we can't receive credit from a reputable institution and that we should fix the problem.

Steve, sometimes it is very easy to be sitting on the other side of the fence.

The OBVIOUS sign of a SCAM. Using Western Union to make payment!

#8Consumer Suggestion

Although I REALLY hate scam artists and really hate to see people get ripped off, I have to say that most people walk right into it as they use no common sense. Here are a few classic signs of a scam.

1. NO legitimate lender will contact you by email, nor will they EVER email loan documents.

2. NO legitimate lender will EVER ask you to send money by Western Union> ANYONE asking for payment by Western Union, is running a scam. No exceptions.

3. Advance Fee Loans are ILLEGAL. Therefore, anyone asking for fees up front is running an illegal operation.

There is no free money or magical loans. If you cannot get a credit card or loan, there is a reason. Fix the problem, take away the reasons, and get a legitimate credit card and/or loan.

Good luck getting your money back.

Here is something I don't quite understand...

I find myself rather confused. I read the rebuttal to this report and see that the person states she filed a complaint about First Union Financial Group with the Better Business Bureau of New York. I myself have also filed a complaint with them about this group of lowlifes and also have seen in several other reports on other sites that complaints have been filed with the BBB.

Just exactly how long does it take for the BBB to update their information on this group revealing them for the crooks they are?

When I received my e-mail of loan documents from First Union the first place I began my research was on the BBB of NY website and nothing derogatory about this group is displayed. Maybe if it would have been I wouldn't have proceeded the way in which I did.

Don't get me wrong, I realize they research each complaint but come on guys, this one is a no-brainer.

The fraud alerts for First Union do not appear in all search engines and I apparently didn't locate all the complaints until after I had sent them my very last penny.

How sad I feel that after the fact I can see them for what they are. I guess being in a desperate situation causes severe tunnel vision!!!
