I began as a mortgage counselor for Farm and Home, which was purchased by Roosevelt bank, then bought out by Mercantile Bank
and then Firstar Bank and finally was merged with US Bankcorp.
In this capacity we sat on payments breaking the law (24 hour payment turnaround was never met in the 6 years I was there) Thereby causing customers to accrue illegal fines and credit reporting. They have even mistakenly foreclosed on and auctioned properties that were paid current on more than one occasion, these loans were in a small town in Illinois.
The consumer banking end of it has always had a habit of raiding customers' accounts for fees and then bouncing checks, when the funds were there for those checks to clear. It has happened to me on numerous occasions.
They also have a little habit of switching your accounts around also illegally from no fee free checking to whatever the highest fee account that is available they do this with no notification to the customer whatsoever (they have dinged me personally here again).
The crowning turd in the punch-bowl came for me when I was laid off on 9/27/01 and 3 weeks later offered the same job back at a 50% reduction in wages and 100% reduction of benefits. After obviously refusing the postion they lied to unemployment benefits causing a 4 week disruption in pay for me and my family. They have since then threatened and bullied most formerly laid off employees to accept these unfair wages. Because I have refused to dance to thier tune they have slammed me with the lowest possible credit rating on my home loan. A loan that has never ever been paid late in its history. And a highly illegal thing to do. I am filing formal complaints with the FTC (federal trade commission and the federal banking commission) and may yet take them to court for damages. If you or anyone you love is in any kind of an agreement with Firstar or USBank run to do not walk to the nearest exit!
