All I can say is this company is misleading in many ways. First, their website indicates FREE benefits, new employees get a tele-med program for themselves with no family coverage, not that it paid diddly anyway. After a year the employee gets real health insurance.

Second, the website also indicates excellent maintenance program, what a crock of poop! Third, if you're parked at a truck stop and a thief breaks into your trailer and steals the product, they will fire you for it or demand that you quit then give you an hour to have your truck cleaned out and gone.

They tell the new drivers in orientation not to park at the Averitt terminal (sister company) in Memphis because there's not enough room so the only alternative is the truck stop. Both Averitt and the truck stop were robbed about the same time so I guess it didn't matter much where a driver parked, none is safe.

See, these guys were failing a few months back and couldn't keep the drivers working for a lack of loads, which resulted in two weeks off at a time without pay. Then come the week before Christmas they use the excuse of the truck thieves or any excuse to get rid of you.

Beware of this company and their so called safety manager Sonny who is a cold-hearted wossey. Oh yeah, orientation sleeping arrangements are 5x7 rooms with dirty mattresses off the side of the driver lounge there at the terminal, this should have been the first red flag but instead my husband gave it a chance at my urging and ended up fired for something that was out of his control. Just another typical piece of crap trucking company...

We have the facts straight because we lived it, did you? Just because your husband still works there doesn't mean jack! We knew AFTER he went to orientation about their health benefits being what they are, we even ask the recruiter BEFORE he went to orientation what the benefits would be and he LIED! If you look on their web site it states free benefits and we were smart enough to ask about it, being the skeptic that I am, I figured it wasn't all great for free.

When the recruiters lie about these things there's not much we can do after the fact and the paperwork I received in the mail for benefits clearly stated there is a waiting period of a year to receive full healthcare. The health insurance offered until then was very costly for a family, I suppose you have no clue or you wouldn't be blowing off about it!

Rose colored glasses? Yeah, we rotten toothed ignorant people have no clue what trucking is about, get a life and quit being so condescending about an issue you have nothing to do with. Feel fortunate that you BOTH have jobs and healthcare because someday you might not.

What secure location do you recommend in Memphis CAT? Let me guess you are also fortunate enough to do all daytime driving and find a spot in a good area? Or your company actually has a secure location, which is it? There were many other trucks opened and ripped off that night, not just my husbands and you want to talk about jaded, isn't that like calling the kettle black? The facts are, he was ripped off while trying to get some much needed rest and it was out of his control regardless of what YOU think. The police were called, why don't you research that and get a clue!

No, never would a company that is struggling to make ends meet let a driver go, please it happens everyday and especially now with a bad economy. It is very apparent that you have no feelings (you are sorry?) for anyone else's hardships in life and I truly feel sorry for youKarma.

Slandering- A false and malicious statement or report about someone. I did not write anything here that is false, nor did I maliciously report anything. My intent isn't to badmouth anyone or any business, my husband was treated unfairly and it's our constitutional right to voice how we feel about it. You stated: Again, I'm sorry for the way you feel but it isn't right to be slandering a company without solid proof. What sort of proof are you referring to? Everything I stated is true facts, true life happenings, the here-the now. You are a very SMUG woman CAT and GOD help you if you should have to experience hard times and perhaps experience a humbling dilemma in your life.

First and foremost, please double check with your husband and make sure he has told you the whole truth. My husband works for this company and has for over a year. They know upfront the FREE insurance is offered to the driver only. They also should use common sense to realize the insurance isn't going to be the top of the line. Lets face it no company is going to waste their money giving FREE insurance to someone they aren't sure is there for anything more than a paycheck. The drivers can get insurance for their families at a pretty reasonable price. Yes, they have been a little slow here lately and haven't exactly had tons of miles to offer but, they are doing the best they can. Anyone who has been driving for a while and isn't looking through rose colored glasses knows, around the end of the year loads get thin. To top it off everything gets scarce in an election year.

I also work for a trucking company and everyone know you are responsible for making sure you are parked in a secure location. If you choose to park elsewhere you take on the responsibility to make sure your load remains safe. I'm sorry that you feel so jaded but facts are facts. If the evidence backed up his story there wouldn't have been an issue. Would there!

I have met a lot of the people both drivers and dispatches who work for this company. They have always been upfront with me when I have had a question or concerns. This company would never be sleazy enough to wrongfully get rid of a valuable driver. Again, I'm sorry for the way you feel but it isn't right to be slandering a company without solid proof.
