Fishbones Sunset Grill Ripoff Expensive & Very poor service Duck North Carolina
Was told the wait would be 70 minutes. Our party of 8 agreed to wait. Got drinks on our own. Wanted to get an appetizer but no waitress in site. 70 minutes pass and a waitress comes along - said "she works the deck" odd how this was the first time we'd seen her.
Our waiter, Eric, told us he would be "right back" 20 minutes later, he ask if we want drinks, although we all had drinks from our over 70 minute wait. Ordered salad, sushi, and steamed shrimp. We received our food by 10:30PM. I couldn't believe it took this long for such simple items. The spider roll and the rest of the sushi was the worst I'd ever had. It looked as though it had been prepared by a 1 year old child playing in the food.
The shrimp was good. The crab dip we ordered as an appetizer was good. Due to having 8 people in our party, the 18% gratuity was included. Therefore Eric must have figured NO REASON to provide good serrvice.
The ladies room was out of toilet paper and one stall didn't lock, so you had to ask someone to hold the door for you.
We left disappointed and personally I KNOW I will never return. I've said this same thing many times, good on those of you who like this place and continue to give it business, if you've never been here I would not recommend it.

I think you're being unfair to the restaurant relative to the service. I would NEVER even think of dropping in on a restaurant - especially on a busy evening - with 8 people in my party without a reservation. Without advance notice of a large party, they might not have had adequate staff working. If you were late to arrive, and it had been slow to that point, they might have sent employees home. Also, for you to wait 70 minutes without a reservation was ridiculous. You should have left and gone elsewhere that could have accommodated you, if even for cocktails, having left your name with the restaurant for the table for dinner.
As for the food quality, I don't care for sushi and have no comments.
