I purchased Fisher & Paykel washer 4.5 years ago. 2 years ago right after the warranty expired I had major problem with the washer. Manufacturer paid to have it fixed (the repair would have cost me $300).

1 week ago had another problem, washer would not spin, called manufacaturer. Fisher & Paykel said I would have to pay for a $75 service call to diagose the problem and they would not offer any concrete assistance with getting the washer repaired.

I decided that instead of paying $75 for a repair call that would most likely cost me $200-$300 in the end to repair that I would buy a new washer and have a 1 year warranty.

Fisher and Paykel's washers are composed mostly of plastic parts. When the new washer was installed on the floor was 2 broken plastic pieces from the Fisher and Paykel washer.

In this day and age, if you want an expensive washer to last more than a few years don't buy a Fisher and Paykel. Be fore warned!

My wife and I have had a Fisher and Paykel washing machine (bought from Lowes) for 3 years, and are totally happy with it. It is the best washing machine we have ever had. We have a service contract for it, but have never had to use it. I'm sorry yours turned out to be a lemon.
