Fitness Evolution offered a $9.99/ month membership but added indecipherable additional fees then denied use of the gym until these "add-on" fees were paid. Since signing up I've had to pay an additional $9.99/month "statement fee" which has been attached after I've already made the 9.99/ month fee. The additional fee was never made clear. No probelm, it's not that much money. At no time was I made aware of this additional fee until I entered the gym at which time I was informed I could not use the gym until the "add-on"fee was paid with an additional late charge of $10.00. Having been stuck with late fees and additional charges I made a point of paying on time and immediately to avoid being denied access at the front desk. Last month my 9.99$/ month fee ballooned to $40.00 when I was informed that my payment made on 4/1 was late. This month, I paid my May fee on 4/28 only to be inofrmed on 5/2 again, that I owed an additional $20.00 ("statement fee" +late fee).

Making a long convouted and indecipherable story short, the employee response and attitude was truly Kafkaesque to say the least. I've been using the facility for 8 years and have been a good, dedicated member who has helped mitigate flood damage during the winter.

Fitness evolution terminated my membership whaen I failed to obey the denial of access on 5/4 because I didn't have the additional funds on my person. I eneterd the facility, completed my work out and immediately to pay the fee imeddiately because a friend arrived and offered to pay for me. Having disobeyed the denial of access my offer to pay was not accepted and today (5/7) my membership was terminated.

I'm at an utter loss to understand the intransigent and snotty attitude of both the employees and corperate representatives. I still don't comprehend the fee policy or customer relations debacle. I've made payments for my absentee workout partner and he was never charged a late fee or additional fees of any kind!

According to the corperate representatice doing the termination mine was the first instance of confusing billing policy he had heard of among the "million or so" members. At no time did any employee demonstrate the slightest degree of empathy regarding the confusing , inflexible policy despite my friendly, polite demeanor.

In fact, based on my overall treatment it would seem that fitness evoluiton could truly care less about me and my desire to simply workout without any hassle.

Fitness evolution only values Sunday athletes who aer willing to pay hunderds of dollars for personal training. Dediated, lifelong athletes who workout consistently, understand gym etiquette and just want to workout mean nothing--apparently. I'm rejoining Gold's!
