Fitness19 Deceptive advertising Moreno Valley, California
Fitness19 mailed several advertisements stating "$9 to enroll and $9 a month". When I went to the gym to join, I was told that an additional $49 fee was required for a "rate-lock". If I did not pay this fee then the monthly rate could be changed at any time to any amount. I specifically asked if there was a cap and was told there was not one. Effectively the $9 rate is only for the first month and they can charge anything they want after that. This is not disclosed anywhere on the advertisement.
