Our Air Conditioning unit wasn't working properly so my wife had contacted "FLA A/C" to come out and check our system.  They sent out a young sales person "Avi" that they later stated was a very experienced "tech" of theirs.  I'm not sure whether this so-called "tech" saw an opportunity to prey on my wife since I was working and not present or he just was interested in making "a sale", but after being at the condo for only a few minutes, tried making the argument that we needed additional duct cleaning work done.  Did I mention that this "tech" said he was a "Abercrombie & Fitch" model.  After checking our A/C unit, he found we had lost 4lbs of freon in less than a year and insisted that if my wife didn't put in the freon now, not to turn it back on because the system "could blow up".  Since my wife doesn't currently specialize in A/C repair (at least to my knowledge - or hers) ... she of course said yes.  Two days later the system was still not working right so she had a second service tech come out.  This guy came out with the proper instrumentation and found 5 leaks in the system. Not only that, but found that 2 of the 4lbs of freon that was put in just 2 days before had leaked out.  It is our understanding that a service tech cannot legally put that much freon in a system without checking for leaks first, but when my wife has tried to contact this company in the efforts to remedy this problem, whether it be a small refund or a follow service call, no one is returning phone calls; just continue to be evasive and dismissive.  This is now being put in my lap so when I tried to locate this company, found out that their website isn't even operational.

If anyone else shares this similar story of bogus companies (especially FLA A/C) scheming through the Tampa Bay / St Pete area, feel free to reply to this report.  My wife attempted to handle this amicably and professionally.  Obviously, this is a method they don't understand.  Let's try it my way.  I will be putting together a formal complaint to the coupon company "Val-pak" that place their coupons in their packets, hence endorsing such behavior.  I will also be reaching out to the 9 "Chamber of Commerce" organizations I belong to.  Oh yeah, I also have access to about 2 million email addresses of friends, family, corporate and retailers partners, business relationships, etc ... through my current line of work exceeding 20 years that I'll be more than happy to launch various email campaigns, providing them a friendly memo of my personal & "factual" experience.  And if my wife hasn't done so already, I'd like to extend an warm invitation to the EPA, Attorney Generals Office, Better Business Bureau & other various trade organizations such as:  South Florida Air Conditioning Contractors Association, NFCCA and CFACA to contact us and listen to our story ... if they haven't heard of these guys already. Not to mention my few thousand local blog supporters  I've been in sales for longer than I'd like to remember and anyone that shares that profession (in any industry) knows the importance of your word and the overall practice of doing "good business".  If you're out there "FLA A/C", my suggestion is you exercise this practice immediately.

To the victims of this company or anyone similar, please feel free to comment as I will investigate this further so the next person may not be your friend or family member.  Thank you for your time.

I also have a problem with FLA A/C. They (Avner)came to clean my air ducts for $99 in July. Upon inspection, they said my unit was contaminated with dangerous mold. They said my blower fan and a-coil needed removal and cleaningand an ultrviolet light needed to be installed to prevent future mold build-up. I asked the cost and agreed to have the work done.  My aircon was unusable fo three days while the broke parts and had to replace them. I came out to find Avner beating the barrel fan with a hamer as he tried to remove it from the shaft. They had to call in a second aircon company to fix some of the damage they did which included ruining the fan modulator because they wired it wrong as they reinstalled it. They also loosed the supporting staps to much which caused the entire unit to shift down and forward. Finally they got it to work. They charged me $1037. I paid them. That night the unit stopped working and I saw water dripping from the unit drip pan. I requested they send a different repairman out since Avner was obviously struggling. Another person came out, did some work and declared the unit fixed. I saw water was again dripping from the unit and a large amount of cold air was leaking from the unit instead of going through the ducts .The aircon went done that evening again.  I called a second company. They said the unit was dripping water because the pan under the a-coil had been cracked. They also reported that the the a-coil was still dirty, the electronic air filters that Fla A/C  said they installed were missing, the fan was knocked out of round and would need replacement in the future, and the dryer vent was not connected after Fla A/C cleaned it. They did a losey job and damaged several parts in my aircon. I had to pay the second company over $1500 to fix the damage FLA A/C did. I paid FLA A/C with a credit card I disputed the charge and won my case and received a credit from the credit card company in December. In January, Fla A/C charged my card again without my knowledge or approval for the $1037. I notified the credit card company.  They have have not respnded to my phone callsThese people do very poor work, are unethical, and should be banned from business. A lady named Nairobi says she is the manager, but seems to be unable to get the charge removed. The district attorney will be contacted next as well as the TV stations.
