My husband was overlimit because of overlimit fees that apparently fleet credit card services charge the day after a statement closes, so that by the time one receives the next statement, an overlimit fee has already been charged. I recently paid 150.00 when the minimum was 67.00. I have a credit limit of 3000, and my 150.00 payment brought my balance down to 2850. My payment shows up but my available credit still says 14.00 My payment has already cleared my checking account, but fleet says that they can keep the available credit of 14.00 from last month for 10 more days even though I paid online and the monies for the payment has already cleared mmy bank.

In 10 more days a new statement will be prepared by fleet and fleet says that they may CHARGE ME ANOTHER 35.00 OVERLIMIT FEE because they credited my payment but they do jnot change the available credit for 10 days. This happened the previous month and they had slapped me with another 35.00 overlimit fee. I do not even use the card, and have not for awhile. How can fleet get away with this? All they are racking me up with is overlimit fees becasue of their policy of not changing the available credit for 10 days or until the new statement is prepared by them.
