Fleetwood offers a one year warranty with our home. The homeowner who purchased the home was requesting cosmetic repairs when the home was three years out of warranty. These request were denied. When they felt this to be unjust, we also offered the phone number to our regulatory agency, the Texas Dept of Housing and Community Affairs. This agency regulates the manufactured housing industry in Texas. They assure manufacturers build and warranty their home under specified Federal Guidelines. Issues concerning homeowner maintenance and cosmetics will not be addressed by this agency.
Fleetwood has an excellent record of customer satisfaction and strives to make every homeowner happy with their home. Every reputable manufacturer provides some form of warranty or limited warranty with their product. It is no different than the auto industry; when the warranty expires, you need to perform routine maintenance in order to preserve your property. I regret that this homeowner is upset with us, however, records show repairs were done in a timely manner by a reputable Retailer and his staff. This was accomplished while the home was in warranty. The warranty and maintenance guidelines were provided to the homeowner at the time of purchase.
I would hope this response will satisfy questions or concerns that have arisen due to the homeowners posting..
