Booked a villa in the Florida Keys for $1390 for my brother and I via paypal.  Put in the wrong dates and contacted owner with my mistake immediately.  Order was cancelled soon afterward.  Called Flipkey Tripadvisor for a refund.  They stated I would recieve $722.50 and the owner $647.47 and they kept processing fee of $20.03.  I was told that the funds would be released the next day.  I asked her to send what she told me to my email.  Oh yes of course, I'll do that right away she says.  Of course that never happened. 

Couple days later no funds.  Called again.  Next customer rep stated a different quote and said I was only entitled to $200 and some change per cancellation policy.   I just said, "Would be nice to get some kind of refund".  He said well I have to send this to my service team and we will get back with you.  Been about 2 weeks and I have not recieved a refund from flipkey tripadvisor vacation rentals yet.  Tried paypal dispute but they deleted my claim and said this was not a covered service.  They sent flipkey a email but they never responded to date.  

The owner of the property was really nice about the whole situation and understood that mistakes happen.  Flipkey sent the owner the $647.47 per cancellation policy.

Where is my refund Tripadvisor vacation rentals? 

Yes, I was lied to and told different stories.  Just keep in mind that you are not dealing with people at flipkey but robots that dont care about you.  That is obvious through my customer service experience.  If you find a place you like make sure to talk to the owner before booking.  Flipkey / TripAdvisor will edit your emails to the owners, blocking your email and/or contact information even after they ask for such information.  All this could have been avoided if they would have just let me talk to the owner to begin with.  

I will update this posting if I ever get a refund and/or legal proceedings are started.  Thanks for nothing TripAdvisor.  Lesson learned and to all a good lesson.
