We had a leak in the bathtub shower. The plumber said it was the mixer inside the wall and that the fixtures were old. He suggested we buy new units from Home Depot which we did.  He cut a hole in the bedroom wall at the back of the shower and removed the old mixer and the copper pipes that were included.  He replaced the mixer and used PVC pipes instead and took the copper away with him.  The outlet to the tub he replaced the one I bought with a plastic one from his truck taking the metal one away.  The outlet to the tub was almost a 1/2 inch away from the wall (gap) and the putty had sunk inside.  The plastic outlet wobbled and would break with any pressure put on it.  The unit he replaced (mixer) leaked profusely and I didn't realise it until my husband checked it out after he finished work.  He called the plumbing company two or three times but never received an answer.

The plumber came 10/14/2014 and we could not use the tub or shower until we called another plumber to repair the work.  I cancelled the cheque I wrote Cracker Plumbing for $200 as I had already paid them $65 for the cost of our Home Protect warranty plan.  The plumber told the HP people that it was mineral deposits which the company did not cover, so they told me after the fact.  We eventually had to pay the other plumber $408 to replace the PVC pipes with copper and repair the leak.  I took many pictures of the damage and work the original Cracker Plumbing plumber had done.  He left a terrible mess and had cut a new hole in the wall which he didn't repair.  We did file a complaint with the BBB and they tried to resolve the problem but the Florida Cracker Plumbing company refuses to contact us.  We had also cancelled our Home Protect policy since they refused to pay the claim.

I have just received a certified letter from Florida Cracker Plumbing tell us they will take us to court and put a lien on our house for the $200 if we don't pay.  I want a refund of the $65 original money since the plumber was totally useless and took away our brand new Moen parts and replaced them with a used plastic part.

We had a leak in the bathtub shower. The plumber said it was the mixer inside the wall & that the fixtures were old. Suggested we buy new, we did.
He cut a hole in the bedroom wall at the back of the shower and removed the old mixer and the copper pipes that were included. He replaced the mixer and used PVC pipes instead and took the copper away with him. The outlet to the tub is almost a 1/2 inch away from the wall (gap) and the putty has sunk inside. The mixer inside the wall is now leaking INSIDE the wall and we haven't been able to use the shower since he was here 10/13/14. The outlet wobbles and if any pressure is put on it, it will break off. We have a Home Protect Ins. but was denied the claim as the plumber said the leak was caused by mineral deposits. We are not able to use that tub or shower and have had to call in another (reliable) plumber. He left a terrible mess and didn't clean up at all plus he left a large hole, he cut, in the wall. I paid $65 deductible and was also charged another $200 separate payment which I put a stop payment on at the bank. We have tried a number of times to contact the company but have had no answer and no one answers the phone, there is just an answering service.

Desired Settlement
I want a refund of $65 that I paid as a deductible and I do not want this company anywhere near my house. I will call another plumber and have already cancelled my HOME PROTECT Ins. policy since they denied the claim based on ******* ******* plumber, said.

Are you sure it was a plumber that you hired ? Maybe it was somebody that likes to play with tinker toys. I find it hard to believe that it was actually a real plumber that did that work. Maybe it was somebody from kindergarten that plays with arts and craft toys. It's unbelievable that somebody would go around saying that they are a plumber doing that kind of work...
