Re: Florida Institute of Technology

I attended Floridas Institute of Technology from Jan. 15th, 2010 to July 15th, 2010. I was enrolled in their undergraduate Information Technology program.

Students enrolled within the program were required to complete all assignments and upload it to Cengage. Cengage extolls itself as being a firm that delivers highly customized learning solutions for universities, instructors, students, libraries, government agencies and corporations.

However, a lot of students, just like me, were receiving zeros even when the instructions were closely followed and subsequently uploaded to Cengage, a platform entirely separate from Florida Institute. Additionally, when grading
glitches emerged, only a mere tepid response was given to correct the technical situation. Instead, there was an apparent rush to legitimize the obviously faulty Cengage grading system and passively place the blame upon the shoulders of the
students. This act alone is thoroughly the antithesis of a democratic solution. Grading students from the premise of an un-flawless system is more in line with an authoritarian apparatchik.

Instead of voiding the defamatory grades and providing a solution to the existing technical problems at that time, Cengage and Florida institute chose to ignore these problems. This also flies in the face of Cengages learning and research solutions
and Florida Institutes providing support services stated missions. These are incongruent reasons as to why I should, or any student for that matter, accept the grades that were given by a faulty grading system that wasnt under the control and operation of the students chosen university.

Even further, I contacted Florida Institute this morning (1.16.2013) and they still have my transcript placed in a holding status. But yet, they gave Capella University a copy of my transcript that defames me without even as much of a mere cursory explanation behind the low grades that I received while attending that university. Florida Institute cannot have it both ways.

Moreover, prior to withdrawing from Florida Institute, I spoke with my Professor, Brian Ehrlich at that time regarding leaving the school and applying elsewhere. He gave me specific instructions as to when to withdraw and on what date. I withdrew on the date he suggested. But yet, I was still told by the admissions office a short while later that I somehow still owed the university a monetary balance.

For the reasons enumerated above, are in fact the reasons why Florida Institute of Technologys transcript should be exempt while considering my admissions to XXXXXX University.
