Florida Power & Light FPL FPL FPL Ripoff of $2,500 in Lost Revenue and Employee Wages Miami, Florida

It has come to my attention yesterday that power has been shut off. After making payment, Florida Power & Light is taking their sweet time in restoring power despite this being a business. I have lost $2,500 in loss revenue and employee wages for that day. There is absolutely no excuse why it takes so long for them to restore the power.

I have forwarded this complaint to my attorney, and regardless of when the gets turned on, we will be filing legal against Florida Power & Light (FPL) to recover this loss revenue and employee wages.

Florida is known as the scam capital of the world, and this is one scam that is now forcing me to relocate my headquarters out of Florida to Texas.

FPL disconnection

Whatever, whether a consumer is a deadbeat for having light disconnected, is a separate issue.  But FPL conglomerate have to be stopped.  Not for disconnecting lights but for taking 24 hours to reconnect since payment?  What  happened to 24 hours since lights are disconnected?  FPL is out of control.  Have another light company to compete.  FPL rules and behavior changes.  We need a petition to circulate in Change.org to have the Florida Light Commission review its policies and FPL re-connected rules.  FPL isn't going bankrupt if they reconnect in 12 hours at the very least.  Food perish in a 24 hour cycle from payment.  I tried paying bill immediately when I arrived home from 2 doc appointments.  And system was screwed up telling me to dial asterisk or # 23 in order to take payment.  Battery of cell died completely so it took that long to pay the frickin lousy bill.  FPL needs to be controlled and we have the ability to do this.

I'd like to see how that works for you.

YOU or your accountant screwed up and want to put the blame elsewhere.

The author "business owner" is very much understood by so many customers of FPL. Despite the issue, I believe the courtesy of restoring power was just, especially as a business owner. Clearly, this situation escalated for the owner to take time out to write about this horrible experience that many customers of FPL have experienced but for many reason maybe unable to express via online, etc.

Note: I have not experienced a disconnect, so this is not an angry disconnect customer but one who has seen this FPL company and it's workers display unethical work habits. Please be patient good people, theres a company who will enter and provide competitive services and great customer service.

You are wrong about the "scam capital of the world"....

Here is the REAL scam capital:

The Scam Capital of the World - NigeriaAre you aware that Nigeria is the scam Capital of the world.  I have over 30 sites bookmarked to prove this, including 126 pages of pictures of known scammers.  And there are possibly hundreds of other sites in addition to what I have.  There are so many scams and they can be very simple to carry out or they can be very complicated to the victims, it all depends on how much they feel they can get out of their targets.  This ranges from a few thousand to several million.  These scammers will have their targets wire the money through Western Union, as it is untraceable, they can get the money fast and move on to their next target.  There is even a scam around Western Union, but it is the scammers that are controlling the problem and the solution.  These scams are constantly ****ing and growing in numbers and frequency.  Nigerian based scams have been confirmed in other places, as 'Mississauga Toronto, Amsterdam, Madrid, Atlanta and The U. K.'  If you feel you are being scammed get a friends advice, or go online using 'Google' and look it up, you will be stunned by what you find.

Thank You  -  Gene Kelly

Did you do as much research to determine it was Florida, as this guy did to post reasons he determined it to be Nigeria.  When you move from Florida, don't miss Texas and end up in Nigeria.

you'll pay your bill ON TIME from now on?

How insensitive of FPL to turn off your power for such a little thing as NON-payment...how dare they.

Then, because they're likely busy restoring power to OTHER DEADBEATS and it will take a while to get to yours..YOU are going to sue THEM...go figure...DEADBEAT.

Why was the power shut off?

If you relocate it's because you are running from more than just the power company.

How did it get to that point?

Let's see it "came to your attention" that the power was cut off.  Exactly how did it come to your attention, did you walk in one day and the power was off?  Were you working at your computer and all of the sudden the screen went blank?  Did you get a call from an employee who wondered why there were no lights on?

Interesting how you are accusing them of taking their "sweet time" in getting your power restored.  Well how about you taking your own "sweet time" in NOT paying them BEFORE it got cut off?

Or was it not your fault that the power was cut off.  Did they just pick you at random to be the "lucky" one who get's their power cut off?  Did they hate you so much that they never sent you a bill and didn't even warn you that your power was about to be cut off?  Did your accountant say they paid the bills and then skipped town?

But once "it came to your attention" that the power was cut off, how long was it before you paid it and when did you pay it(date and time).  Then when did you expect them to turn the power on?  Also, if it has since been turned on..when was it turned on.

As for moving to Texas.  I would be willing to bet that the Texas Utility Companies don't like businesses that don't pay their bills on-time either.
