We received a card from Turn This Over Marketing offering a $50 gift card.

We called the number on the card and agreed to allow a technician into our home for 15 minutes to "have our water tested" and answer six questions in exchange for a gift card.

At the appointment, after about 10 minutes, it became obvious that they werent there to do a water test, but rather to give us a sales pitch in an attempt to sell us an expensive whole house water filter.

This company misrepresents, lies, and then when you show no interest in purchasiThea water filter rom them, the sales person got belligerent, packed up his water test kit and left, refusing to give us the gift card.

We called the company owned by Kevin M Duffy and got a run around. They seem to go under multiple different comany names at the same address such as Florida Suncoast Services, Water Equipment Technologies and Avanta Pure.

Don't waste your time with Florida Suncoast Services.

I am glad I did not let them into my home but they nearly pulled it off. After all the research is done I do believe this company is a scam let me tell you why....

It started on a saturday morning when a tall and nervous looking guy knocked on my door. When I spoke to him he stated that he was with a "Marketing Company" and they they were doing ,arketing research in my area. If I agreed to do the survey I could win a $50 gift card. So I agree and it is 6 very general questions.

A few days later a femail (London) calls from (321) 441-3458 and says I was selected to "receive" a $50 gift card. Londo goes on to ask several questions and it quickly becomes apparent that I did not win anything but instead I'll be given a card after I have my water tested. London then tries to set me up for an appointment when my wife was home. They want to come out after 6 PM but I suggest Saturday morning (I want the $50 card).

London will not give me an time it takes to do the water testing saying that it depends on how many questions my wife an I have. In short it appears she has been trained to avoid answering the question with an actual time.

So after speaking to my wife she does not want to bother. The company, that goes by "Water Equipment Tecnologies" as well as "Avanta Pure" (look both of them up on this site), calls the night before to confirm that both me and my wife will be there. I explain that my wife is not interested and Kevin says that it is company policy that she be there.

Think about it... why must me and my wife be present for a water test??? The answer (imo) is that they are selling something big and do not want to have to deal with someone saying they need to speak with thier spouse and removing they high pressure they use to make the sale.

Bottom line if your spouse will not be there they say you cannot recieve the card.

I asked Kevin exactly what they are selling but he never actually answered. Kevin just started asking me questions and defelecting mine.

If you are approached by this company ask the following and refuse to agree to an appointment until they answer clearly:

1) Did I win or is this in exchange for letting you come in to my home?

2) I need a time from of how long this will take for the water test.

3) Will the card be with the technician testing my water? Do I have to purchase anything to get the card?

4) Before the person is allowed into your home ask them to show you the card.

5) What exactly are you selling?

6) What is the model number so I can research the product.

7) How does teh BBB rate you? (Hint it is an "F" AND Water Equipment Technologies is a "C-"). Did they lie?

Please add your experiance to this site, it is the only way to stop these people from ripping off and lying to the public.

NOBODY WORK FOR THIS COMPANY THEY ARE A SCAM. The manager, Bill, is very rude and creepy. It's a weird environment..I worked for other telemarketing places before but the weird thing about this job is that its literally ALL WOMEN and all the managers are guys..its just weird. The manager Bill is so rude and creepy. He has this app on his smartphone so that everytime he shakes his phone it makes a whipping noise..he would walk up and down the cubicle rows shaking his phone so that it makes that whip sound...like we work in a sweat shop???? SO RUDE.

I worked here for about 2 weeks and it was the worst experience of my life. The whole thing is a scam but they don't tell you that. I had to find this out myself after talking to some of the new homeowners I talked to. You have a stack of papers given to you for you to call and you tell them that they get a $50 gift card along with a complimentary water test. I've had so many people that I've called tell me that the guy came to check their water and was there for 4 hours, and tried to sell them some $9,000 water softener and wouldn't leave until the home owner made him leave. They also never bring the gift card and the homeowner on the phone with me would tell me they would call for it and they would never get back to them. I felt so bad for these poor homeowners..THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. Me personally I don't like scamming poor innocent new home owners. That's what this business does is they have us only call new home owners because they don't know any better and a $50 gift card to Home Depot would come in handy when in reality they don't ever get it.

This job is not only a scam to new homeowners but to the workers as well. There's something weird going on here because every Monday Bill tells us all who made an appt and who made a sale. It's literally is the SAME PEOPLE EVERY WEEK. These same people every week are the same ones that pass out the stacks of papers with the phone numbers out to the different cubicles and I feel like they pick the best ones for themselves and then gives the shitty ones to the other women. I sat next to one of the girls who makes about 5 appts a day and she literally ALWAYS had someone answer the phone while me and some of the other women I would listen to would go through maybe 2 pages of phone numbers before we even got someone to answer!!! FAVORITISIM!!!!!

The manager, Bill is so rude. It takes me about 20 minutes to get to this place for work...gas isn't cheap!!! and he asked me a rubbtle question and I answered it CORRECTLY and he said I didn't and he made me clock out and then said "actually don't ever come back" and he did it in front of all the workers. VERY UNPROFFESIONAL. then I told him that's fine with me and hes like good and I said its fine ill just find a new job and hes like good I hope your actually good at it. IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. HES VERY RUDE AND IMMATURE. WORST BOSS I EVER HAD. DONT WORK HERE AND DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. The only good thing about this job is the free candy at the front desk..hahaha..

Unfortunately we had the same experience with this company. Only since we felt bad for young sales person we tried to very patient with him and listen to what he had to say. After the first hour we started hinting that it’s taking too long while he kept promising he is almost done. After almost two hours he finally left the house (even though we heard his boss telling him on the phone not to leave until we make a purchase). Needless to say he did not have the gift card with him, and promised it will be sent to us in the mail. To this day (two months later) we never got the the gift card. What we did get is the same a run around trying to ask about it over the phone.

We feel that companies of that sort should not be able to keep ripping people off. If this is how they try to sell their product I can only imagine what the quality of the product is and what value the people who to purchase it get for their money. But most of all we are tired of companies plain out lying to the public and getting away with it. That’s why we are filing a complaint with the Florida attorney general.

We have been told by the attorney general office that there are better chances of pursuing this if more people would file complaints. So we ask you to do so with your story on their website: http://myfloridalegal.com/contact.nsf/contact?Open&Section=Citizen_Services

It really doesn’t take long (no longer then the time you gave to the Suncoast services) and it might help to stop these guys from further harassing home owners in Florida.
