When I first came to FTC, was to enroll for the CJ program, my admissions person was very nice, she explain everything to me and I was very impress with the presentation. I like her from the start, because she asks the right questions, and thats why from the beginning, I told her that I would

have no problem starting on Monday, but all depend on my wife schedule operation. She understood and she said that if it doesnt work for this star, they have another one in 4 weeks. I did appreciate that she told me that, she was very strait and down to the point.

I got disappointed when I met the DOA, Chris Mercado, first, he was very pushy and arrogant, and show no respect to the admissions person, he sounds like an use car salesman, he did not care that my wife was going to have a mayor surgery on Tuesday. He was just caring more about me been there on Monday than anything else. At that point, I couldn'tt believe the thing this guy said to me. He told me about the people there have more problems than me, and they are making the commitment to go to school. He told me about single womans there with 3 kids and working to get it done. He told me that I need it to make a decision right then and there. I told him the same thing I told my admissions person. He didnt even ask me what my wife has. All he wants is for me to be there on Monday. At that point I told him that I will be there Monday ,so he can leave me along, and I left.

Monday came and I did not come to class. On Thursday, I got a call from Alex Rodriguez, School Director, asking me, why I did no show to class on Thursday. I told Mr. Alex that I never started, and Chris knew that. He then ask me if I came and set in class at all, I told him no, he then ask me

if I came and sign an attendance sheet, and I told him no. At that point I was getting a little irritated for the line of questions that he was asking me, and then I ask why all this questions?  He told me that it was probably a mistake and then he told me not to worry. It looks like they sign my name so they can count me as a number set for that start. I was so upset with the situation that i went to enroll in another school. Few moth latter, I receive a bill from a Collection agency that I own FTC, more than $3500 dollars. I call Alex Rodriguez and he assure me that it was all a mistake and he was going to fix it. A month later i got a letter clearing me from the debt.

Chris Mercado was like the typical USE CAR SALESMAN desperate to get the sale without any consideration for peoples situation. Is sad that now, I know how this school works, and Im happy that I did not make the mistake to start there. I want everybody to know about my experience, and I want people to shop around before picking a school, and do not go to FTC!!!!

In My Opinion......

#2UPDATE Employee

Thu, July 19, 2012

I am David Ruggieri, the President of FTC.

I have read some of these ROR and find no relative truth to the comments. I believe they are written by employees we have chosen to discontinue a relationship with, and they are bitter. They pose as students, but once you read their story it is clear they are not. The comments about our DeLand staff are just plain mean and untruthful. They are written by what appears to be an ex-admissions person who no longer works for the company. We get that sometime.

Please visit the campus if FTC is of interest to you. If you have any experience that you feel is unprofessional or in any way not proper - let me know directly - you can reach me by email at druggier@ftccollege, or call me at 407 447 7300 and if I am not there, leave me a message, your name, contact information and I will get back with you.

And on that point, leaving a name, please, if you have an issue with FTC tell me who you are and I will solve it - period - I will solve it for you. I cannot respond to any issue if I do not know who to contact.

And for my students in Pembroke and the EFL issue - I have sent staff there to resolve any issues. If you feel there are still any-unanswered ones, PLEASE reach out to me directly at the above contact information and I will personally resolve the problem.

The Rip Off Report serves a purpose when used properly, in our case it makes me aware of a problem - but if I do not know who you are it cripples me getting it resolved. Those of you, not ex-employees please, you know why you no longer work for us, who have a concern, read this and believe it is ok to call me, actually if English is not a language you are comfortable with in discussing your issue, contact my administrative assistant, Jennifer Durant at 407 447 7300 or Jdurant@ftccollege.edu , Jennifer is Bi-Lingual and will work on your behalf.

Additionally, if you are a current employee and have concerns with staff or management, please let me know and I promise we can talk in complete confidence, you have my word. I will always have another member of the HR or Compliance team with us when we speak, again, you have my word. Just reach out by phone or email.

Thank you ROR for allowing the rebuttal.

David Ruggieri
