I joined tradebank in November with a very slick sales pitch from the sales person that came to my home based business. I was told the sign up fee was $495.00. When I told the sales person that I did not have the funds she offered me a sign up fee for $100.00 with the negative amount of $395.00 to be put in my tradebank account.

I was led to believe that when I had customers who were tradebank clients, I would build my account until I was caught up. I was not told that there was a 12% charge for my negative account and did not give the company permission to withdrawl anymore than the original $100.00.

This week there was $47.30 taken from my personal account, and when I called the company to ask why I was treated very rudely. I talked to 2 different people who claimed they could not help me and that I would have to wait for the regional director to call me back. After waiting 24 hours I sent him an email saying that I did not approve of the unauthorized funds being taken from my account and that I did not want to be a member of tradebank anymore as they have not met any of the promises they made to me when I signed up.

I received a very nasty and threatening email from the regional director today, telling me that if I disputed the $47.30 taken out of my account they would get a lawyer, take me to court, assured me I would lose and then I would have to cover all the legal expenses. Not really what I was expecting from this company, and I was incredibly surprised by the treatment I received from a person named Tammy and from the director named Tait.

I sent him another email stating my feelings, that a threatening letter would not affect my disputing the amount and my displeasure with my treatment by this company. If they take me to court I will fight it, but I find it incredible that this so called legitimate company wouldn't even take the time yesterday to have a conversation with me, find out why I was unhappy etc..before they started threatening a brand new small business woman (with a fantastic reputation in town) with a lawsuit.

All I wanted was an explanation, my $47.30 sent back to me, and to have my membership cancelled. If this is how they do business with the people who join, then I know I am making the right decision to get as far away from this company as I possibly can.

What happened to integrity in the business world today?

Florida Tradebank resolved issue promptly and politely

#2Author of original report

Sun, January 16, 2011

I was contacted by the Regional owner of Tradebank the day after the incident with a very sincere apology and a refund of my money.

I was not very happy with my treatment with my issue originally, but I do feel now that the owner felt very bad about how the issue was handled. I accepted his apology and all problems are now resolved.

My only advice to people who join tradebank is to make sure that all the policies are explained to them properly including the brokerage fees. Trade and barter did not really work for me and my business, but I can see how it would work for others.
