Complaint Review: Florida Window and Door

Do not under any circumstances purchase goods or services from Florida Window & Door. They advertise 25% off sale year round to get you to bite. Salesman who called on me was completely dishonest and scammed my wife at our dinning room table. We showed a legit quote for Low E glass in our windows to reduce the heat in our home. He called the owner Scott Berman from his cell in front of us and said Scott would match the quote we showed for Low E glass if we would sign with Florida Window & Door to do the job. The fine print in the top right corner of the contract used stated a lower quality impact glass that was not Low E. Once my wife signed that contract we were toast.

She called when the first windows were installed to complain about the wrong and cheaper product and was told that's what we bought look at the contract. We had a host of problems from that point on. One window was to small and they installed it with a 1/1/2 piece of treated wood the length of the window to fill the space. It tooks months of complaining to get the right size window re-installed. We tried not to pay the last $770.00 for all of our headaches which included the alarm wires being covered up on one window and can't be recovered without tearing up the top of the drywall and stucko to re-expose the wires. The back of the contract that we didn't read states how Florida Window & Door isn't resonsible for any damage or shody work they do to your home.

We ended up in court in West Palm Beach Florida with the owner Scott Berman who sued us for the balance via a mediator. We were not suprised that on that day he was there with documents from 4 other customers he was suing as well for lack of payment I'm guessing for similar reasons. All I can say is if reading this doesn't diswade you from using the worst possible window company you could choose at least have an attourney present with a magnifying glass to read evey word front and back of Florida Window & Doors contract. Have someone with knowledge of what you signed for at the time of delivery to verify the product is what you bought and not some inferior cheaper windows like we got. If you do buisness with Florida Window & Door you will most likely be sorry at some point.
