I ordered flowers from this company on Dec. 2. They were delivered on Dec. 3 to my uncle who was in the hospital in North Carolina. I live in California. I went out of town Dec. 3-5 for the weekend. When I returned I had a voicemail from my mother saying that the flowers were delivered on Friday (drooping, but had water in them), and they were dead by Saturday morning. I contacted the company, and after leaving many messages and not getting called back, I finally called back and demanded to speak with a manager. I spoke with a woman (who would not give me her name) and explained the problem. She said 'how does she know the flowers were dead'. She must have thought I was just trying to get a free arrangement.

She also said I had waited too long to call about it. She failed to understand (even after I explained it to her) that I am physically located in California, and the flowers were delivered to N.C. and I didn't find out until Sunday night of the terrible quality of the product I had purchased. She said that she was not going to refund my money and then she HUNG UP ON ME! This company has a local phone number in the Hickory, NC yellow pages. It appears that you are calling a local florist, however, they are located in N.J. and they call another florist in N.C. to deliver the flowers. If I wanted that, I would have just used another company!!

Besides being misleading, they provide defective merchandise and then refuse to give you your money back. Plus, when you call to complain, you get HUNG UP ON!!!

Tips on ordering

#2Consumer Suggestion

Tue, December 07, 2004

I have worked in the floral industry for 15+
years. Your flowers should have lasted 7-10 days Roses 5-7 days. I try to suggest clear vases so you can keep them full of water
In this business there are many wire
services and they just Email, fax or call a local
shop, many times paying anout half of the charge for the flowers to the shop preforming the work. Coustmer gets the product of much less than expected. I have been on the line with many of these complaints and later found out that when the actual order gets to the florist providing the product the money is not there...
EX. Thanksgiging ad reads, A beautiful arrangement of roses, waxflower, zina, mums and mixed greens ect... in a crystal vase.
The one in the picture has a price of 54.95 , but the following says "begining price of 34.95, very diffrent from 54.95 then custmer calls a 800# Then you get the spill of the delervy charge,9.95 (most florist do NOT charge delevery to a local hospital)--thats the 800# processing fee then are told there is a 5.95 wire charge, then tax. So custmer thinks the florist is getting 45.00 plus tax. When the order reaches the florist the total is still 34.95 TOTAL
No delevery charge, No TAX -UNCLE SAM is always paid- so the florist takes out for delevery if needed Arpox 6.00-10.00 standard where I am (Raleigh NC) and UNCLE SAM and what is left is a 25.00-30.00 arrangement ALIVE AND PRETTY where I have worked, but quite smaller than expected. Then usually the local florist gets the complaint, the 800# is now out of the picture B/C the card was from the local florist and service was preformed there. So to keep the custmer happy a larger arrangement is sent with a buisness card to call direct and get the 800# out of the picture. Most florist are run by "MOM AND POPS" just trying to preform a service but M&P'S have to get the ad's from corprate companies and also that 34.95 the florist receives -well, deduct 15 to 20% for the 800# company B/C you got the order. The tip I will give anyone is, try whenever you can to use M&P'S call the town where the flowers are going, but some of these 800# companies pose as local florist. There usually in the phone book with the town name or under A... Florist so there the first in the heading. There was one of these on TV 48 Hrs. or something like that and there company name ended up being NIGHTMARE ...try to get a couple of names usually something diffrent will pop out at you and will be a better bet
Ex. Flower basket- Floral Garden or a name of a person. For your solution I would Get the # off the card it is probely a diffrent # than you origionally called. Under normal conditions anywhere I have worked has always replaced a questionable product. I hope I have helped,
Also for any holiday call your order in early so you get the best attention and have it delivered early, that way if there is any problem the florist has time to make the custmer happy.
Best of Luck - Flowers do make smiles .
