For God So Loved The World Ministry Take time and pray inc. Church Scam Artist Indianapolis, Indiana
This is to report a scam that has been going on in the Indianapolis area. It saddens me that it is a supposedly homeless shelter and church organization. People are being taken advantage of in so many different ways dealing this with this place.
People that stay in this place have been living there for several years and they are not homeless. A lot of these people have jobs and make money but they give their money the religious leaders, who then turn around and tell the public that they need X amount of dollars to keep this shelter open.
In reality these people live a lot better than most people and are not considered because they can help themselves. They just choose to get pimped out by a supposedly religous leader. Many people have given over thousands of dollars and the most recent scam was for 150k. The people that are donating need to ask a few simple questions:
Did I research this organization fully? What does this organization have to offer? How long have these individuals been living in this facility? Why have a lot of the people living here been in this same facility for several years?
Those are just a few questions you would want to ask before dealing with this place. Beware just because it has God in it does not mean it is good!

This place may have a great "public" concept but the old saying goes, "the rich get richer." You say $100,000 in utilities but they do not turn on the heat and give residents space heaters for the night and are required to turn them back in in the morning. Very "cultish" being there. Not allowed to play cards because "it leads to other things," not even rummy, solitaire, etc. Not allowed to listen to anything other than religious music, woken up at 5am to get to "class" by 7am. If the pastor is out of town, no one can leave the facility. What is that going to stop? The pastor preaches about not flaunting wealth but you pull up to the facility and they have their brand new cars, yes CARS parked there, i.e. Hummer, BMW, Mercedes. Hmm, does not sound like not flaunting wealth. And I don't want to hear that you've been blessed. Facility presents a beautiful front area but rooms are in desperate need of renovation. Parking lot is filled with potholes that will swallow your car. People that have the ability to pay have to pay $350 monthly but the next person that does not have anything does not have to pay a dime and they don't have to do any more than the person that is paying. They ALL work for the contractors and don't see a dime.
Granted it IS the only place some people have to live but you need to treat them with a little respect and dignity. You don't need to cram the religion down their throats. I was also given the impression they have a drug/alcohol program. Well, the only program is they don't have a chance to leave and use. There is no TREATMENT involved. Ask any chemical dependency specialist and they will tell you what they offer is not treatment. Enough said.

I have been with the "group" for years, scams, rip offs, non payment to workers, take ssi checks, rob the people of their money in "God's Name." Give away "raffle houses" and automobiles to inner group or family members. Deception is the game and the ultimate goal is to make pastor rich. The buildings mortgages are owned by legitimate buisness men which are holding the bag as she didn't pay mortgage payments or loans. Claim they retrieved place from a $20,000 tax sale when I know it had contract of like $600,000 which they didnt pay. THIS IS THEFT BY DECEPTION. I'm sorry for the guys who own the place legally and I hope when all the investigations come thru we are able to share our stories. FACTS here, I have nothing to gain but just wanted the info out there. Look into the C-1 scam as well. nuff said

Self-Sufficiency Programs At Homeless Center

I have verified, that this complaint report is entirely true concerning people at the facility working. I have verified that this facility has its own contractors license, and as residents with certain skills come to the facility, they are assisted with job placement in performing residential and commercial construction, to sustain themselves and their cost at the center.
I have verified that the facility has received NO FEDERAL, STATE, OR CORPORATE GRANTS in their history. But in the last 5 years, the facility and its resident have paid over $500,000 toward purchase of the facility, put nearly $300,000 in facility upgrades (performed by shelter residents), spent nearly $200,000 in furniture and furnishings, and averaged over $100,000 a year in utilities, not counting the other operations cost. It was all done by their own hands, working in self-sufficiency. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE CONCEPT.
This facility also, provides assistance for other job seeking opportunities.
(Example: 11 workers were taken to Employment Plus in Indianapolis, for a temporary-assignment to work at Sony in Terre Haute, Indiana. This facility transported the 11 residents, from 4:00 a.m. to a 9:00 p.m. return for 3 weeks.) This provided income for many families staying there, to help them through Christmas.
THIS REPORT IS EQUIVALENT TO CALLING THE BIRTH OF CHRIST A SCAM. Things are not a scam, simply because you don't have a full understanding of what's going on.

I would like to comment, that this report is obviously personally-intended to simply defame this unique essential facility that helps hurting and helpless people. You appear angry that this place provides quality care, and offers residency beyond the traditional emergency or transitional services.
The 2008 recession did send a new population of homeless people to the streets, seeking a home to stay in, and they needed longer periods of residency for stabilization, especially families with children. I personally visited the shelter, and knew of someone who stayed their until they got on their feet.
On my visit, I understood what you said, but not your complaint. It was the most elegant display of human compassion, reflected in the decor and quality services, that I had ever seen, or could ever imagined. The people their told me "incredible" stories, of how they came to the facility in dire conditions, and have found security and stability there.
Others talked of changing from their addictions, and destructive behaviors, finding faith and building hope and character. HOW COULD YOU HAVE LOOKED PAST SO MUCH? to lodge this feeble attempt to desecrate something anointed and laborious, with all the imperfections of human frailty couple with fervent passion.
I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE INTERESTED IN THIS ORGANIZATION. TO GO AND SEE FOR YOURSELVES.
Note: This place should be part of a special tour attraction in Indiana. Groups and organizations from all over the country, should use this "facility-styled-concept" instead of "Tent Cities"
