I purchased a 2001 Ford Focus in October 2001, but not from this same dealership, and have had several services fixed on the vehicle..it is at 38000 miles and the wire harness burned out on the vehicle. There are several recalls on the vehicle. It accelerates dangersously and I drive a three year old back and forth to school on a daily basis. I fear for my life as well as the childs.

I have tried to get out of this vehicle and it seems fairly impossible to do so...Ford is trying to push me back into a Focus.

I am not paying for repairs to the vehicle although I have an extended warranty. I was advised by ford that the wire problem is not covered under my warranty.

I also have had to pay for car rentals every time I am left without a vehicle due to a service problem.

I need help.

2001 Focus is not a good car- check out the new ones

I recently purchased a 2002 Focus SE at a very good Ford dealership. The salesman admitted that the '01 and '00 models are very unreliable. HOWEVER, try trading in yours for a 2002 or 2003. They have fixed the problems of the first couple years and are astoundingly better. No recalls on mine at all. And in the future, don't buy a car the first couple years it's produced- you're just a guinea pig for the manufacturer.

You might try to lemon law the car. Read up on the process and contact someone to help you. I have had problems with car dealerships not fixing the car correctly the first time (three trips to get a gas gauge recalibrated). Don't put up with their crap. A ghost problem (one that only happens once in a while) is almost impossible to fix (I know a couple auto mechanics
).

Good luck with the car. Check out epinions.com next time you buy a vehicle- it has been an invaluable resource for me.
