Instead of calling it a Recall, they labeled it as a Customer Satisfaction Service. The dashboard completely peels away from the windshield. They replaced it once under the warranty. When the new one began to peel up I called them again. I was told by my team service manager that they did not have the parts and it would be 8 weeks, to call him back in 8 weeks. This was around the middle of July.
I waited 8 weeks and called back and was told that the recall had expired on August 31 (which was well after the 8 weeks I was told to wait and call back).
So, I contacted Ford and was told that if I didn't get it done by August 31, they wouldn't help me. I called Mike Davidson Ford again and inquired as to why the team manager did not tell me in July that it expired in August, so that I could have called another Ford dealership to get it fixed. No-one could answer that.
When I called the 800 number to tell them that I was going to trade the car in and would never buy another Ford, they said "Thanks for calling we will document your comments". Seems to me that no one at Ford cares if they customer is upset.

Recall information

"Recalls" are only required for safety reasons, that is why the other was called "Customer Satisfaction"

If the problem is unsafe, contact the National Highway Transportation Administration. (NHTSA) If the NHTSA determines the problem is widespread enough, and is unsafe, they can require Ford to recall the effected vehicles.

When you call Ford, or most companies for that matter, you are speaking with one of the lowest people in that company. The have a set list of rules and scripts that they follow, and for $7.00 per hour do not CARE if you drive a Ford or not.

If you are unhappy, take your problem higher up. Some people do realise that un happy customers do have an effect on the bottom line, and perhaps one of them can correct your problem.

Good luck

I had my car towed to them and they said just $59.95 and we will find the problem. 3 weeks later and they called me at work and said come get your car!

I wish at that time I knew the laws of Florida, but anyway the $59.95 went to $500.00 they said they had to rewire the car so it would run. I said excuse me what happend to the $59.95 and he said thats it you want your keys back pay the price. Now this happend in 1992 and I got rid of the Ford. And I see they are still up to there old tricks!
