My divorce left me in financial ruin and I had to file bankruptcy recently however I told my lawyer I want to keep paying on my car and that I was behind some payments. I moved to a new location for a new job and called Ford Motor to begin paying my responsibilities. I know was behind but I wanted to let them know I was trying to pay my balance of $4000. I spoke to two people first a man and then this woman who started out by asking my new address which I gave and my contact information. She was very nice throughout this entire process. I thought I would be able to work out a payment plan to get back on my feet. I told her I will begin making payments with my next pay check and then that is when the "HAMMER" fell. She told me that I need to make six payments which is $1800 by the end of the month or they would repo the car. I told her there was no way I can make such a payment because I needed to buy food, my 16 month old son needed diapers and so forth; plus I had bills to pay and needed gas for the car to get to work. She stated that this is not her problem...I then asked her do you realize what is going on in the economy can't you work with me...afterall I did call you. She stated that they have waited long enough and they wanted their money and they needed their money too. I told her I understood but $1800 was a bit much and that I could do $900 and then my next paycheck pay $900. She said no...I asked to speak with a supervisor and she stated that if I talk to someone that they will repo the car and to just take her deal because that is all she is willing to do for me. I told her that this would mean no Thanksgiving or Christmas for our family...this will wipe us out until the end of December and by then I owe for my rent and a house I still own in another state. She said I have been behind too long and that I needed to pay what I owe. Thanksgiving is in two days...what am I going to do and my oldest son is in Michigan and counting on me to fly him where I am for a visit. Thanksgiving and Christmas cannot be this year. I really wanted to do the right thing but I ended up causing more havick in my family's life then it needed right now. There is nothing I can do I have until December 8th to make this payment.

You've heard of needs and wants, you NEED food, transportation, housing, fuel You DON'T need to pay for flights at this date for visiting, great big turkey dinners, tons of holiday gifts, I am sure if you tell your kids/family things are rough now they will understand.
Ever hear of Christmas in July? Hopefully you will be on your feet by then and can treat them to flights and gifts, trust me I know what your going through in 2002 we lost everything right before Thanksgiving and within a year we recovered and went on a caribean cruise.
Hang in there and TIGHTEN UP NOW!!!

Ford Credit(and most other banks) will Repo a car after THREE months. In fact you can expect the Repo company to be looking for the car as soon as the 3rd payment is missed, especially if no contact is made. From your report you had missed 6 months of payments. The only reason it was not reposessed earlier is because you moved and had a new job so they could not find the car. So instead of writing a RipOff report in November that they are going to repo the car, you would have written on in August that they had.

They have your new address and you can bet that if you don't make the payment they require or you can get them to agree to on December 8th, on December 9th the car will be gone.

I am sorry about your situation, and am not defending Ford Credit. But Ford Credit is a business and for what ever reason you did not keep up with the payments. As such they(or any other bank) would be doing the same thing.

As a suggestion, you may want to let them just Repo the car. IF you never re-affirmed the car loan and it was included in your BK you may just be able to turn it back in with no further damage to your credit or owe any additional money. You can then take that $1800 and use it on a down-payment for a cheaper car. Before you go this route you should contact your BK attorney to verify that is the case for you.

INNOCENT Latinos who were TRICKED into a LEASE when they thought they were PURCHASING THEIR PICK-UP TRUCK from a Ford Dealer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ford Motors is COLLAPSING!!!!! Their stock is basically WORTHLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ford Motors is being run by COMPLETE IDIOTS who must have SLUDGE IN THEIR BRAINS because they can't make proper decisions about the company's future!!!!!!

Print a copy of your Ripoff Report and send it to ALL Local News Stations in your city IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!

You need to write some 'FORD CHRISTMAS SONGS' for their CEO. Go to the TOYOTA page of this site and look through all of the recent Updates to get some ideas for some 'FORD CHRISTMAS SONGS'.

I'm Karl, and I approve this Update!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU & YOUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
