I have to file bankruptcy after investing $25,000 into a real estate scam with Fortune Builders.  Its called Fortune Builders because they are the only ones making a fortune.  My husband and I signed up and paid for 1 year of coaching and online training, we have opened up a company for investing and doing rehabs, went through the program and haven't made a dime.

We did everything they told us to do and spent even more money doing it and haven't turned one deal.  It has been 10 months now since we charged this on our credit cards because you only have 1 day to scramble and find the money or "no deal" and we can't make our visa payments that we charged the $25,000 on, we both work full time jobs and because of the debt we can't even put gas in our cars to get to work.  I have been admitted to the hospital because of the stress of the debt and now we have to claim bankruptcy.

This is a scam, plain and simple.  People at the seminars are talked into taking out their retirement to pay for this.  Out of the 20 students that joined the "Mastery Program" with us, I only know of 2 people that have done a deal.  Not a very good ratio.

I want my money back so that I don't have to claim bankruptcy.  They claim you only have to flip 1 house and you can pay off this debt you just incurred.  Its nothing but a money-making-scam and we fell for it.

Rebuttal to Filing Bankruptcy due to Fortune Builders

#2Author of original report

Tue, August 14, 2012

After filing a complaint last week on this site regarding Fortune Builders and having to file Bankruptcy, a representative of Fortune Builders has made it his mission to communicate with me on what they can do to rectify my issue.  My investment in Fortune Builders had added to my debt load, which was already excessive.  I now realize that my article was presumptuous and I didn't afford Fortune Builders the opportunity to assist me with my situation, so instead of calling them and expressing my needs and concerns I instead chose to write my complaint.  Using the word"scam" was not a fair description because Fortune Builders will display student success deals every week with their case studies.

My contact person at Fortune Builders has committed himself to giving me more extensive/personal training. Not only has he expressed his desire to make me a success story, but also every student that signs up for their training/coaching programs.  I am pleased to say that we have come to a resolution for my issues and I look forward to continuing my education with Fortune Builders. Fortune Builders has proven to me that they will go the "extra mile" to see that their students are ALL successful.
