Complaint Review: Foundation Financial Group

Beware of this company!  They get your business by promising to close your mortgage faster than anyone in the business.  They quote a rate, tell you you are approved,  then ask for your credit card to pay for an appraisal to wrap up the process.  They will charge you $575.00 for an appraisal and read to you a disclaimer that states... if for some reason, the appraisal is canceled, there is a $200 non-refundable cancellation fee. 

THEN, they send you the 'good faith estimate' where you will find OUTRAGEOUS fees, and POINTS that were never verbally discussed.  When you tell them to stop the process, cancel the appraisal and refund your money, they become belligerent.  They tell you they are not authorized to refund your entire appraisal fee and that you "locked in" the rate, therefore you also agreed to pay the $200 cancellation fee for the appraisal. 

Bait and switch tactics.  These people are slick...very slick.  Do your homework.  Do NOT send them ANY upfront money until you get the 'good faith estimate' and agree to ALL terms in writing!  I have gotten a 'good faith estimate' from WF with a lower interest rate, zero points and closing costs $3000.00 LOWER than FFG!!!!  Beware! 

And all you FFG employees on here...you know who you are...you're the ones writing rave reviews on a complaint board *eyeroll*  Just another FFG tactic.  Do not try to refute this complaint.  You know it's the truth and customers who have a good experience with a company do not go to a complaint board to refute the claims of those that do.  Get real.
