My husband and I are on fixed income but I ordered $70 of plants from Four Seasons Nursery(check this website http://www.gardenwatchdog.com because this company goes by various names and they list them).

The shipment arrived-some 3 to 4 weeks later-and the plants were DOA. I mean dead. So i sent the shipping label back in and called them several times. You pay for the calls btw. It is NOT toll free.

They sent replacements. I planted these and gave the company the benefit of the doubt. We assumed they were dormant. Dormant is an understatement. I know this company-like any company-keeps records of their transactions. I could not find the shipping label for the replacements but they did have the original shipping label. I called and emailed the company both. They sent at least 10 emails for a month. Back and forth, back and forth.

Then they wrote and said they would send a REFUND. As soon as I rec'd this email they sent another explaining why they would not send a refund. My father ordered plants from this same company. Some of The rose of sharon trees grew-SOME did not! He has cancelled subsequent orders because they were supposed to ship onions with his last order and he did not even get them.

SO he simply gave up and cancelled the order hoping to stop payment on credit card. They confirmed this but I wouldn't hold my breathe. My husband and I cannot afford to lose $70 over a bunch of dead stiks. If had wanted dead sticks I could have gotten them from our yard for free.

Since I chose to do business with this company on our limited income all I expected was plants that grew and we wouldn't have been so upset over the 70-but now we have dead plants and are out 70. I could cry-we don't have the kind of income to be spending money like that on dead plants.

This same company ripped me off. I had purchased over 100 rose of sharon from them in 2001. They looked dead when they arived, but I was asured by the company that they were dormant. So I spent a week planting them, and weeks watering and caring for them. I got nothing. So I contacted the company, and about 2 months later recieved replacement plants. These plants also looked dead to me but I went ahead and planted them. I still have nothing in 2003. There was just to much work involved, to keep replacing them. I gave up. Lesson learned. I was not burdoned by this finacially like the original writer.
