Do not buy a horse from Carolyn Smith at Fox Hill Farms. These horses are quick sale from the auctions (no matter what story she tells you) that she knows nothing about. She represents them all as great/experienced trail horses -- that is not likely true of most of them. She buys the cheapest, usually flashy colors that attract attention. Has them listed for sale olinewithin a day or two and will tell you anything you want to hear.

Carolyn sold us a paso fino (mostly has TWH) that she said vet checked at 12-14 years old.Gave a us birthdate she claimed was from the breeder, and even provided names on dam and sire (after the fact) -- none of this was true.

The horse is mid-late 20's, cannot chew hay and must be fed soaked cubes and pellets. She said he had no health issues and the only body mark was a "rub mark in the hair" on the neck from a driving harness (hidden by his mane). He actually has 3-5 dislocated vertebrae in his neck that are permanently fused in a large dip (size of my fist) that is apparently from a poorly fitted driving harness, and likely too much weight to pull over an extended period of time (vet indicated would take years and much pain for this deformity to occur -- it is not a single injury).

We are also suspect the horse has Cushing's, but lab work has not yet been complete -- there are several physical signs that were not disclosed.

This horse was purchased by a 78y lady that Carolyn took for every $$ she could squeeze. I now board the horse as it was shipped from TN to NE based on good faith agreement between the buyer and Carolyn.

The woman is liar and a cheat -- save your money and buy from a reputable horse person/farm/breeder. I have personally spoken with Carolyn from the beginning to assist this lady. She lied then, and when we tried to resolve the situation she lied some more. Feel free to contact me for more info, or to speak directly with the lady who bought this horse - she is elderly and does not have email, but I can refer her by phone.
