On March 04 2016 I hired Fox Movers to come and move me. During the move one of the Movers broke the glass door to the entry of my apartment building door because he was too imcompetent to manuever the furniture to get it out of the door, the same mover also removed the legs from my table and lost the legs to my kitchen table. When we arrived to the location I was told that I needed to submit a claim for reimbursement. I contacted Rep for Fox Mover's at the office and she stated that she was emailing the forms on that day I completed the forms and sent over pictures of the glass door that was broken several days went past with no contact from anyone at Fox Mover's I contacted the rep for Fox Mover's she stated that she was having someone check the truck for the legs to my table, I had to call her several times before she stated we could not find the legs and to also email her pictures of the table missing the legs I emailed her the pictures she advised that the claims dept would be in contact with me. It has now been 2mos and no one from the claims dept has reached out to me I have sent Ruby several messages, she has tried to resolve this issue and her hands are tied as this issue can only be resolved by the claims dept, it does not take 60 days for someone to pick up the phone and say we are processing your claim and it should be done by this day or we need more time to process your claim. I paid for my move services on time so my claim should be paid in a timely fashion. This is by far one of the worse moving experiences I have ever experienced. I just would like my damages to my property of $295.00( $185.00 for my table and $110.00 for the window).I filed a claim with the better business Bureau and this was Fox Movers response:This claim is still being processed; the move took place on 3/4/16. The claims team has up to 120 days to provide an offer/settlement. Sometimes it does not take that long and sometimes it does. This information was provided to the customer on the claims form they filled out. Because we were unable to locate the legs we requested information about a like item on-line so we could look into replacing the lost pieces. Replacement insurance was not purchased by the client, therefore the replacement value they have assessed is not valid nor can it be validated at this time. The only insurance included with their moving expense was $0.30 per pound per article. We can rush the claim but this would result in the client only receiving $0.30 per pound per article for seemingly light weight items rather than us attempting to replace them. We would like the customer to tell us which option they would prefer so we can assess that request. At this time we are denying the request to 'refund' the client $295.00 for the two items claimed as they were only valued at no more than $0.30 per pound per article at 210 pounds together, which equates to $63.00... I suggest that no one ever use them they are by far one of the worse moving companies in Chicago, not only do they Rip you Off than they decide they don't want to pay for the damages that they caused. If you want to be ripped off use Fox Mover's they send workers that don't speak English to your home let them brake your items and loose pieces and than tell you that they only want to pay you change for your item's.
