Francis & Mailman PC / Geoffrey Baskerville Geoffrey Baskerville LAWYER CHEATS YOU BY TAKING 80%-90% OF SETTLEMENTS Philadelphia Pennsylvania
They have not dealt with me in an ethical manner AT ALL! I have the same story as the others I found on the web. Luckily I saw some reviews before I continued to sign agreements to let him take so much of a cut without explanation. Asked for bills and have not gotten anything and it has been three months. The contract says what the agreed amount is, but yet Geoffrey Baskerville is asking for 80% - 90%. Please everyone read the contract. Negotiate what his cut will be. Don't let him have TWO OPTIONS which is to take a percentage OR charge hourly fees. It needs to be one or the other. I am trying to fight this now. I am taking his silence and stall tactics as an attempt to sabotage my case to have the defendants withdraw their settlement offers. For three months he has been busy, tied up, and on vacation. Asked for written correspondence only and he keeps asking for a phone conversation so that nothing is put in writing.
He is supposed to be working for me and now I have to do MORE work. I thought they were being helpful until I saw how much Geoffrey Baskerville wants to take. Even Transunion filed a case stating that Baskerville was charging too much and that his hourly rate was off the charts! All of this is just aggravating and now I have to do this campaign and let others know to beware. Crazy how a "professional" is being so money hungry. I wish I had that low down type of nature where you squeeze everything you can out of people who initially trusted you. It's like dealing with Bernie Madoff. Taking 80-90% of a settlement is not fair or reasonable and you know it.
Also the key point that I wanted addressed with a major defendant appears to have not been presented in the complaint or discussions. This screw up caused the defendant to be in a power position, which makes zero sense because I was VERY CLEAR in both verbal and written communications with Baskerville about the situation.
Watch out for this firm and Geoffrey Baskerville. Just Google his name or the firm's name along with the word "complaint."
