Franklin Chef / Franklin Industries, LLC Refusal to honor warranty request Brooklyn New York
I purchased a wine cooler from Home Depot in April 2008 that was manufactured by Franklin Chef - Model No. HDBC36ID. Within a few months it began leaking from the bottom of the doors on the front of the unit.
After 3 service calls and innumberable phone calls and emails, Franklin replaced the unit with a Franklin Chef Model No. FBC36ID on February 10, 2009. This replacement unit began leaking from the same location on June 5, 2009 - 4 months after receipt.
Franklin refuses to honor any warranty repair or replacement stating that although the problem is now with a new unit, the one year warranty dates from the original purchase date, April 1, 2008. Home Depot offered to refund the current purchase price of $197.00 (Clearance price) but we originally paid $450.00.
Customer service calls to Franklin were met with rude and unhelpful comments from the service center personnel. I will never voluntarily do business with this company again.
