I was in the process of disputed internet charges with AT&T (Bellsouth at the time), when the companies merged in my state. AT&T sent my account to Franklin Services, without even contacting me. Franklin services has contacted multiple times a day for about five monthes. I have only received one notification in the mail by them. On Feb. 28th, I contacted them and asked for three things,{1. the balance, which I did not owe 2. their mailing address 3. if check was a suitable form of payment} the girl I spoke with answered all these questions, but what she fail to mention was that she marked my account as sending payment. Never once in that conversation did I specify that I would send a payment or a date to expect to recieve a payment.

Then on March 10, 2008, a representative by the name of Jeremy Johnson called me three times on my cell phone while I was at work. The third time, I returned the phone call. I experienced verbal abuse, much like some of the other reports note. I was questioned about how I spent my money, How much I got paid, How many hours I worked, and even if asked "what if" questions like "what if I did not pay my rent, what would happen". After enduring this abuse for at least 20 minutes, I asked to speak to a manager/supervisor. He informed me that he WAS the unit manager, so I asked to speak to his supervisor, which he promptly declined to allow me to. Again like other reports filed, I was told I had to pay over the phone by that night OR I would face a civil suit. After he called me a liar I refused to speak to him any longer. And the entire conversation he kept reminding me that the conversations were recorded.

After him badgering me for about five minutes, with me refusing to speak to him and asking to speak to a supervisor, he said that he was noting my account as a refusal to pay and then he said he would connect me to a supervisor for them to explain the payments for court costs. The 'supposed' supervisor never picked up and then I was hung up on. Trying to resolve this matter I called back. Conviently, Jeremy Johnson had stepped out to lunch. I spoke with a new a representative named Bob ext. 1700, he tried to assure me that the company would not sue me for $32.70, but after reading some of the previous reports on here, I am sure this was probably just another way the scam people and ruin their credit.

Do not fall for their tricks. I would file a complaint with your state attorney generals office. Also I would goto Debtorboards.com and find out how to record the conversations. Then get a NACA attorney on a contingency basis and sue

Anyone out there that reads this. Debtorboards.com has all sorts of information----free. They even have a few attorney's that answer questions. try it ---they have information on the FDCPA and how to spot violations etc. There is a wealth of information.

Good Luck to all
