Slap a Lien on him

My suggestion to you would be to slap a lien on his property for services rendered, i know its a bit drastic but a lien would be great.. Also consider sueing him in court and slapping a Slander charge and Defamation of Character charges on him if you can get and sworn affidavits from people he has talked to about you.
You should be able to file the appropriate papers at your local court house. with a lien on his property, he can never sell or file bankruptcy (provided you file the appropriate papers in bankruptcy court) and get out of what he owes you.
Having done work for others in the past being a general contractor a lien is the fastest way to get them to pay up.
