Fred Green, Kevin Lampard Fraudulent Square Trade invoice for segway puchased on a ebay, buy it now agreement Los Angeles California
On Sept 25th 2005 I agreed to purchase a segway which had been listed for sale on ebay.The description said ask about a buy it now price-so I did.
The vendor Fred Green said he was in England on a business trip but if I agreed to the price he would have his brother package and ship the segway.
He said we would use square trade so we both would be protected.I would receive the segway before he could pick up the money. He said square Trade would send an invoice to me.
The next day I received an invoice from "squaretradedeals@squaretrade.com" advising me to pay by western union. I checked on msn search and it said square trade was a reliable company so I proceeded to follow the instructions.The money was sent to square trade agent Kevin Lampard in Los Angeles to be held for my email releasing the funds to Fred Green.
Two days later when I had not received any shipping information I sent an e-mail to Fred Green and "squaretrade@deals@squaretrade.com" requesting info. about the shipment. No answers were received.
Still beleiving I was communicating with square trade I sent another e-mail advising-do not release funds--eventually, days later, I contacted square trade through a different e-mail adress and received advice not to follow the instructions on the "fraudulent" e-mail. This advice came 6 days after I had sent funds by western union. Those funds were picked up by "kevin lampard" the same day.
