Complaint Review: Fredrick J. Hanna And Associates

It seems this company's reputation proceeds them, and not in a good way. My experience has been horrible. We placed an account with a Credit Counselor, debt specialist back in October of last year. With this Counseling company you put money into a trust fund for your credit negotiations each month and they send cease and desist letters and power of attorney letters to each creditor you list or subsequent collection agencies that get the account. Fredrick J. Hanna got a hold of the account after the original creditor wasn't willing to deal with the credit counselors, which the original creditor told us to do if we were unable to pay the higher monthly payments ( Go see a Credit counselor) . Anyway the original Creditor is BANK OF AMERICA.. They ignored all the cease and desist and Power or attorney stuff and put the account in the hands of this Unscrupulous firm F.J. Hanna. We got two phone calls over a 24 hour period from F. J. Hanna from two different people. They were both told that the account was turned over to a credit counseling and negotiation service and they needed to deal with them not us. They had the funds to negotiate. F.J. Hanna I suppose ignored the documentation they were sent by the credit negotiations company. WE never received any paperwork from them.

that was back in December I believe when they called. Our Credit counselors have no offers and no communication from them regarding this account. Today I get a call from a person representing Fredrick J. Hanna and associates, threatening that legal action was right around the corner and they would get their judgement, attorney costs and lien our home. First of all Our home is homesteaded and we never got anything official from them regarding the debt. They ignored the Power of attorney and the Cease and Desist order. They threatened us trying to get back payments, when I know the account was already turned over to another outfit last week, who also got our Cease and Desist order and Power of attorney. I have read complaint after complaint regarding this Fredrick J. Hanna and Associates. on other similar sites. Bank of America needs to stop using such a Collection firm that would use such strong arm tactics because what they do over and over is break the law however, regular non Lawyer people are forced to pay up money they dont' have because they are scared.
