I recently used Freecreditreport.com to check my credit score. When I went on the site they asked for credit card info so they can verify my identity and right under that is tells you that you will not be charged for giving them that information. Man I was a sucker. A few days later there was a charge on my account for 14.95. I guess if you sign up and then don't cancel right away they start charging you for a service they'd already told you is free. Then when you call the computer they tell you they won't refund your money and tough luck. My advice would be to stay as far away from this site as they can. I've had to block my account so they can't randomly charge me now. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS SITE AS YOU CAN!!!!

On the site they ask for your card information and they tell you it's to verify your identity, it does not say they are going to use that to charge you for the service. They frequently tell you they are not going to charge you, and then in the fine print is says they will. It's in the name of the site FREEcreditreport...it makes no sense to charge people for a service you are offering free. They automatically sign you up for the triple advantage program without your permission. It's a standard "bait and switch". I contracted my bank and they refunded the money after an investigation and they agreed it was a very disreputable company to do business with. I'm not the first person to post a report about this site. After the incident I looked online for others who had a similar problem and found many others who had the same issue as me which prompted me to write this report. In the future....if ANY company wants your card information that isn't your bank....don't give it to them.

When you sign up for freecreditreport.com your also signing up for a a TRIAL of a product that tracks your report for you. It's not a ripoff. I use that site every year knowing that if i don't cancel within a 7 day period I KNOW they will charge my account. This service is called "Triple Advantage" credit monitoring.
If you go to the website there's a pretty clear disclaimer on the left hand side that states this. Next time......read. Nothing in this world is free.

Here is the actual disclaimer.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple AdvantageSM Credit Monitoring. If you don't cancel your membership within the 7-day trial period**, you will be billed $14.95 for each month that you continue your membership.
