Freecreditreport ripoff Orange California
This is a near rip-off, thanks to you. I found another person who was ripped-off on your website and was instructed what to do, hopefully not to be ripped-off.
His name is miguel, south carolina, usa. submitted 4/11/03 at 3:58:04pm-modified 4/15/03 at 7:44:08pm.
What happened to me. My husband did a credit report with "freecreditreport.com (8/3/04). Their policy is the first report is free if they are notified to cancel within 30 days. I (we) were trying to cancel.
I contacted them by phone and got a voice recording stating i should e-mail them at "cancel@consumerinfo.com". This is not a e-mail address and is deceiving as a website. They are giving misleading advance for an individual to "cancel".
I was trying to reach on the web "cancelatconsumerinfo.com" and ended up getting "rip-offreport.com" in msn, explorer gave me a syntax error. There seem to be no website or e-mail for "cancelatconsumerinfo.com.
Today, 8/24/03, thanks to miguel's information and instructions as to what freecreditreport.com actually wanted me to do to "cancel". Hopefully, we have avoided any payment and will be cancelled in time. I included you in my e-mail correspondence to them, expressing how i came by the info to correctly contact them to "cancel".
Thank you for being there for people like us. I am currently awaiting their response.
